Choose your network switch
- Speed: Match each device connection and the uplink to your bandwidth requirements. Compare 10/100 Mbps Fast Ethernet, Gigabit and multi-gigabit models; uplink speeds can differ from device-port speeds.
- Port count: Count your connected devices and allow room for expansion. Check whether the advertised total includes uplinks, and how many ports support PoE.
- PoE power: For powered devices, check the supported PoE standard, maximum power per port and shared power budget. PoE input alone does not mean a switch provides PoE output.
- Installation: Check managed features, copper or SFP uplinks, mounting options, power supply requirements and operating-temperature ratings against your installation.
